Casco Bay Artisans (CBA), an international eclectic fine art gallery, was founded in 2012 in Portland, ME.
CBA currently represents 53 artists from around the world, with a focus here in Maine. CBA showcases a lot of art mediums to include: oil; watercolor; acrylic; pastel and pallet knife paintings; marble, steel, found art object, and soap stone and paper sculptures; art jewelry; pewter; porcelain; glass and stained glass; designer textile wears; and handmade fine art wooden chairs.
CBA has a team of eight (8) artists (sculptors; painters; art professors; jewelry designers; textile designers) who assist in the curation of the art to keep it fresh, exciting and always exceptionally well made. Each year CBA’s curating team, lead by Casco Bay Artisans’ owner, Jennifer Swarts, spends a week curating new art that has been submitted and sought after.
Jennifer’s motto has always been, “Two Heads Are Better Than One” and is committed to seeking out opinions of other respected art professionals, through the curating process, to enable the best in variety and quality.
An artist herself, Jen truly believes that in order to operate a successful art gallery it must have at least one leader who is also an artist. “Presenting art to a potential gallery for show and sale can be very intimidating for the artist however experienced this person may be, and I make it my business to never discount the effort that each artists has brought to my preverbal table and treat each inquiry with the utmost integrity and follow through regardless of the outcome…..it is hard to put your art and soul out there, and we at Casco Bay Artisans understand this as so many of us curating the art have been in this very same position ourselves.”
CBA accepts artists inquiries ongoing by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
